Luke 1:1 - Additional Comments

Luke was born in Antioch. He was probably the only author in the Bible who was not a Jew - he was probably converted by Paul at Antioch. After his coming into Macedonia (Acts 16:10), he was Paul's constant companion. He was a physician (Col 4:14). Some think he wrote the gospel while traveling with Paul, but it is uncertain when and where it was written. His style of writing is accurate and exact, with a purer Greek than is found in the other gospels. He speaks much to the priestly office of Christ. Luke also wrote the Acts of the Apostles.
