Luke 1:35

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The angels answer in effect - it will be a miracle by the Holy Spirit.
Regarding the title "Son of God" -
- The angel prophesied in this verse Jesus would be called the "Son of God".
- Mark, at the beginning of his gospel, gives Jesus the title Son of God (Mark 1:1).
- John the Baptist declares Jesus to be the Son of God (John 1:34).
- The devil tempts Jesus with the power associated with being the Son of God (Luke 4:3,9).
- Nathanael, upon learning Jesus saw him under the fig tree, declared Him to be the Son of God (John 1:49).
- Martha calls Jesus the Son of God, and equates it to being the Christ (John 11:27).
- The demons in the possessed man declared Jesus to be the Son of God, equating it to being the Christ (Luke 4:41).
- The apostles, marveling at Jesus when he calmed the wind and the waves, called Him the Son of God (Matt 14:33).
- Jesus declares Himself to be the Son of God (John 3:18, 5:25, 9:35, 10:36, 11:4).
- Jesus Himself acknowledged He is the Son of God during the interrogation by the chief priests and scribes (Matt 26:63-64, Luke 22:70).
- Immediately after Jesus' death, when the centurion saw the earthquake and the other events, he acknowledged Jesus was the Son of God (Matt 27:54).
- John, at the end of his gospel, calls Jesus the Son of God, and equates it to being the Christ (John 20:31).
