God is not telling us not to work hard for a living, for that is very clear in Scripture - 1 Tim 5:8, Eph 4:28, Prov 6:6-11, 31:13-16. We work hard to take care of our family, plus others who are in need.
God is telling us that while we do what we can do, we are to trust Him that our needs will be taken care of.
