Luke 2:3 - Additional Comments

Often we don't understand events and God's design in them. Joseph and Mary may have questioned God's timing since she was 6-7 months pregnant and Caesar called for the census, requiring them to travel about 70 miles on donkey to Bethlehem. But that's where, from time eternal, God planned for Jesus' birth. Plus, they did not come back to Nazareth for at least 2 years.
It may have been where only Joseph was required to travel for the census. If so, why did Mary go? Maybe Joseph did not want Mary to be alone or maybe God made it clear to them she was to go.
Instead of complaining when circumstances don't make sense, we can just ask God with interest of what He is doing now.
