Mark 10:18 - Additional Comments

When Jesus was called "Good Teacher", the man probably did not realize who Jesus was, that He was the Son of God. This title was probably used by this man in the same way he would use it to address a rabbi. So Jesus rebukes him, not really for calling the Son of God this title, but for his use of this title for human spiritual leaders, who have sin. He is saying that only God should be addressed as "good". Once the man realized Jesus was God, it would then be appropriate to call Him "Good Teacher".
Jesus also says this so the man comes to a realization of his own sin. We see in the following verses that he seems to be in denial of his own sin.
