Mark 10:38 - Additional Comments

To be baptized means to be immersed. Jesus was asking if they would be willing to be immersed in the same circumstances that Jesus was about to experience, full of tremendous persecution. They said yes (vs 29), but they had no idea what was to come. Yet, they eventually did (vs 39) share in Jesus persecutions (similar), and it was to honor Jesus, not themselves.
