The betrayer had worked out a signal with them: "The one I kiss, that’s the one—seize him. Make sure he doesn’t get away." He went straight to Jesus and said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him. The others then grabbed him and roughed him up. One of the men standing there unsheathed his sword, swung, and came down on the Chief Priest’s servant, lopping off the man’s ear.

The chief priests and the scribes and the elders were with them - Luke 22:52 "Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him..."
Who came to him? It was a multitude of people, including the servant of the high priest. John 18:12 "Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him." Note the Romans were not involved at this point.
