Jesus physically transformed the deformity - he rearranged his ears and mouth to work properly.
It's interesting that this man knew how to speak plainly, but his body would not let him. How sad those who have spiritual handicaps - they have the wish, but not enough desire to make the change. They, in effect, choose to keep their handicap. May we have the eyes to see any handicaps we have, and the heart and drive to work on it.
