Mark 9:8 - Additional Comments

Why did Jesus take these 3 on this experience? It wasn't for Jesus, it was definitely for them, and for Christians of all generations, as we also see it, in a very limited way. What is it we see? Most significantly the glory of Jesus, and that He is set apart above all others. The apostles had to learn this. This transfiguration alone shows his uniqueness among others that people might worship, like Mohammed, Buddha, Confucius, etc. God singled Jesus out and glorified Him uniquely. So, whenever anyone asks what is so unique about Jesus, not only can we say He is the only One who rose from the dead, but also He was the only One whose glory was shown while He was on the earth.
