Matthew 26:17 - Additional Comments

Note the timing of the event - the first day of Passover (i.e. Pesach), aka the Feast of Unleavened Bread.(Exodus 12:17-20, Exo 12:39, Exo 13:3,9, Numbers 28:16-17).
Jesus is preparing for the Passover meal, aka the Seder service.
They had no permanent home, for this was Jesus life - Matt 8:20.
Jesus knew that the chief priests were seeking to take His life (Matt 26:3-4), but that never dissuaded Him from doing what He needed to do. He did God's will without undo concern of the consequences. That is how we need to obey. How often we heavily weigh the expected results when considering to do what God wants us to do. If we determine God has something for us to do, if it is from Him, He will provide, and will take care of the consequences. We need to do it simply because it is right. We should not weigh whether to do it based on benefit, but based on the fact it is a request from God.
