Matthew 6:12 - Additional Comments

Often we are in denial of our sins. If you want to enjoy the forgiveness of God from sin, you need to allow others to receive forgiveness from you. If you are bitter, you can't expect your prayers to be heard (1 Pet 3:7) - you need to forgive.
Do we earn forgiveness by forgiving others? No. Grace by a faith commitment to Jesus saves us. But an unforgiving heart is an indication that you have never been saved.
How can we forgive when it's difficult to forgive? If you realize how deeply indebted you are to God, it will be easier to forgive others their lesser debts to you. See Mat 18:21-35 about the slave who would not forgive.
