Matthew 8:6

His servant probably had a severe form of cerebral palsy, which affects movement.
How great to see this centurion's compassion - not for a family member, but for his servant!
The centurion called Jesus "Lord", and said "I am not worthy" (vs 8), instead of "Teacher", like Simon the Pharisee (Luke 7:40). As with the leper, Jesus knew the heart of the centurion (vs 13), and gave the man what he asked for. See the notes on vs 3 on the conditions for an answer.
