Numbers 22:5 - Additional Comments

Who was Balaam? An enemy of Israel, a sorcerer, one who followed false gods. See here:
- Balaam was a soothsayer, a user of magic and divination to foretell the future (Josh 13:22)
- Balaam sold his divination for profit (Jude 1:11, Num 22:7)
- Apparently Balaam was going with the wrong attitude, and that was why God spoke through the donkey. (2 Pet 2:15-16)
- As it turns out, Balaam's original intention was to curse the Israelites (Deu 23:4-5, Josh 24:9-10)
- Balaam was a teacher of immorailty to the Moabites (Rev 2:14)
- Later, Balaam provoked the Israelites to go against the Lord (Num 31:16)
- Israel killed Balaam as an enemy (Num 31:7-8)
- God warned against others who had the doctrine of Balaam (Rev 2:14)
