Philippians 3:3 - Additional Comments
It is not the removal of the flesh that defines the relationship with God (for he says we have no confidence in the flesh), but the worship of God in the Spirit. He must be worshipped in the spirit - John 4:24. As compared to the activities required in the Old Testament, here we see it is glorifying God, worshipping Him, that is what defines the true "circumcision". Also, a defining characteristic is rejoicing in Christ - again we see that mentioned (see verse 1).
