Proverbs 27:5 - Additional Comments

Proper rebuke actually cements friendships (true friendships), rather than breaking them up.
Note is vs 5 and 6 how love and kisses is the wrong thing to give a friend when he needs rebuke.
This is also true for our children. We must make sure we punish them when appropriate, rather giving the love and kisses described here. Of course, all proper rebuke is given with love. This is actually comparing 2 responses to love - open and concealed. Both are acts of love.
