John wept without consolation when it seemed no one was found worthy. Did that mean that the wrongs of the earth would go unrighted, that the righteous would never be vindicated, that the wicked would go unpunished? Did it mean that the kingdom would not come because the necessary purging of the earth would be thwarted? The scroll contained the answer, but no one was found to open it.
No one was available to solve the problems of life? John was broken over facing this.
