Romans 12:2 - Additional Comments

What is the world's perspective on what we do with our bodies? When it comes to sexuality; people today embrace a philosophy that people are free to do almost whatever they please. Believers are constantly swimming against the tide of culture which is resetting the standards away from God's standards of what is moral and immoral.
In what ways to we conform to the world? In clothing, in TV and movies we watch, in jokes we tell, in attitudes about sex, in sin being laughed at and ignored, in what feels good is okay, in accepting almost anything that is against God's standards.
This transformation needs to be a radical change, a move in the opposite direction. How? Take a look at God's barometer, God's standard.
How do you renew your mind? Pay attention to what you spend your time on, and what God wants you to spend time on - Prov 4:23-27, Phil 4:8, Josh 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3. Remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge (Psa 111:10, Prov 1:7), so the transformation can't take place until you have a proper fear of God.
We can look at Jesus as one who did not conform - He set the standards, even when they flew in the face of the current norms.
Whose team are you on? When you come to church, are you standing with the home team, or are you one from the visiting team?
Friendship with the world is being an enemy of God's - James 4:4.
God proclaims, "Are you with me or against me?!?!"
Stand on the rock with Joshua and proclaim, "As for me (and my house), we will serve the Lord!" (Joshua 24:15)
The interesting thing is that the more we reject conformity to the world, the more we align with God's standard, the more we are "transformed", and the more we "prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God," and how truly great it is.
