Romans 5:14

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

We often categorize our sins into big sins, little sins, bad sins, acceptable sins, unavoidable sins, etc. Again, how does God view them? How would you categorize Adam's sin of eating the apple? Nothing like the war crimes and atrocities we have seen over the past 100 years. Yet, God categorizes it as a grievous sin. And in reality, all are - Prov 6:16-19.
Adam was a type, a foreshadow, of Jesus, in that both altered forever mankind's relationship with God. Yet very different! (verses 15-17)
