Romans 5:4 - Additional Comments
What makes living worthwhile? When you have something to hope in, something to look forward to in the future. What are the 5 areas where we get fulfillment? Work, play, family/friends, God, helping others.
God wants us to have hope.
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.
Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But what does hope originate from? From the godly character built in us. And that comes from perseverance. And that from Tribulation. Challenges in life produce all these things, but especially hope for the future.
And this is a hope that is fulfilling, that does not disappoint (vs 5).
