God specifically differentiates expectations from old and younger men (1 Tim 4:12, 1 Tim 5:1, vss 6-8) and women (vs 3, 1 Tim 5:2). Older should imply wiser, but some still remain babes (1 Cor 3:1-3).
Sober - (temperate) vigilant and mindful to examine and do what God expects of them; not reckless in his approach to life and the things of God
Reverent - (grave, honest, dignified, worthy of respect) avoids misplaced or too frequent levity (Eph 5:4); avoids vain things; composed, serious, wears proper clothes that are not gaudy or inappropriate
Temperate - (self-controlled, sensible) one who does well in managing his passions and affections, so they don't hurry him into any thing that is evil or indecent
Sound in faith - not distracted by opinions or perspectives contrary to the gospel, not drawn to fables or false traditions; steadfast, constantly a rock of faith
Sound in love - steadfast in love towards others in prosperity and adversity, a rock in love, a giver, selfless in dealings with others
Sound in patience - (endurance, perseverance) patience in waiting, patience in enduring, not one of anger, values others, has a perspective of their challenges, values others needs more than pains of self
