Zechariah 5:3

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

The curse is against thieves and liars. This is reiterated in verse 4, which states that the curse cannot be removed and will result in destruction. These are the 7th and 8th commandments. Lying is listed twice in the list of things God hates (Prov 6:16-19). It's amazing how the world trvializes lying, and yet it is one thing God tells us over and over how vile it is. How often we are tempted to lie to get our way with something or someone, especially in relationships, and in finances. Hey, that would also be thievery, wouldn't it?
