Genesis 3:4 - Additional Comments
This is a lie from Satan. He is the father of lies (John 8:44).
Since Satan cannot defeat God, He does everything he can to undermine God, and shake our confidence in God. He tries to get us to doubt God, who He is, and what He does. Recognize the source of confusion and doubt about God.
Satan knows full well the futility of battle against God, even knowing that Adam and Eve's battle would be futile -- yet he seeks to bring those who have success into his own failed state.
This is how Satan typically tempts us -- he questions where it was sin or not, he denied there was any danger or consequence of the sin, in fact he suggested the advantage of doing the sin. Sound familiar? But we know it was a huge lie, as we must recognize in our own struggles.
