Genesis 6:6 - Additional Comments

The wickedness of man wronged God, and it had personally hurt and grieved Him.
Did God truly regret making man? Did Jesus truly want the crucifixion to bypass Him (Matt 26:39)? Is it acceptable to be troubled by circumstances, yet be without sin? Yes! (e.g. if you lose a loved one, you will grieve, but it is not necessarily sin.)
May the sin we see grieve our heart as it does God. Even more, may our own sin grieve our heart as it does God. As Charles Spurgeon used to pray before each sermon he presented, "Have mercy on me a sinner!" (Luke 18:13) Do you grieve because you have sinned, or because of the consequences?
