Matthew 16:22

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

Matthew 16:22 - Additional Comments

Peter did not yet understand that Jesus' mission on earth was to die. He saw death as failure. So often we see not as God sees, and we question His decisions. Jesus fully understood -- John 12:27.
