Mark 9:13 - Additional Comments
The last 2 verses of the Old Testament tell of the Elijah to come (Malachi 4:5-6). What did it say Elijah would do? He would come "before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."
The Elijah to come was John the Baptist - Matt 17:12-13. John came before the arrival of Jesus, and preached to turn the hearts of people back to God.
