Luke 4:17

They handed Him the book, indicating He was not an intruder, but permitted and expected to read.
They gave Him the book of Isaiah, but He selected the passage (Isaiah 66:1-2). See the note on verse 19.
The people did not understand this passage, just as in Acts 13:27. Amazing that all during this time they had been hearing the prophets read, but did not understand them.
