Luke 15:24 - Additional Comments
No matter the sin, God will welcome with open arms those who repent. The nature and depth of the sin is never greater than the mercy that awaits if there is repentance. This also means as Christians, when we stumble, God still waits with open arms for us to repent. Acts 3:19 says ""Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,..." We need to remember that once we repent, our sins have been removed, even as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).
