Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

As prophets, they were not serving themselves, but future generations of believers. These things were revealed to them by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ. These things are so marvelous and fascinating, even angels want to look into them, to study them. I don't know how many or what types of things fascinate the angels, but we know this does.
