For some of us, this inheritance may be the only one we will ever have. This is an inheritance that we cannot lose. Oh, and what an inheritance!! (Heb 10:34)
What God has given us, those who are born again, can never be degraded or taken away. It is indestructible. We cannot ruin it by our sin, nor is it tainted in any way ("undefiled"). We have a guarantee, a reservation number, in heaven (Eph 1:13-14) for a place prepared for us by Jesus (John 14:2-3).
