If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

In everything we do, we are to glorify God. When we speak and minister to others (with the ability God gives us), we have glorified God, and since we go to God through Jesus, God is glorified through Jesus.
We must beware of ever having arrogance about a gift or self pity because of the value of the gifts given - we are not to focus on ourselves, but use our gifts to glorify God.
The difference between a gift and a talent is a gift must and can only be used to glorify God, but a talent may or may not be used to glorify God. God works in us mightily (Col 1:29), allowing us to have certain gifts... for His pleasure (Phil 2:13).
