1 Samuel 18:5 - Additional Comments

At this point Saul accepted David, as he placed him in command of the men of war. It is difficult to know how many men David was put in charge of.
David continued to act wisely, even as he was given more and more power. How much more difficult it is to handle position and power than in a humble state (Matt 19:24), yet David continued to act honorably, so much so that everyone he encountered thought even more of him.
Where did David's wisdom come from? From the Lord (Prov 2:6) See Luke 21:15 - ""for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.". We can actually ask God for more wisdom - James 1:5.
