2 Corinthians 7:14

For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

Paul's letters to the Corinthians were stern and bold, hitting with the truth, and causing sorrow (8). Yet, Paul was proud of them, and boasted of them, particularly to Titus (vs 16 - he had all confidence in them). Because of Paul's boldness, they were nervous about the arrival of Titus, Paul's envoy - they received him with fear and trembling (vs 15).
