2 Corinthians 7:8

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

Paul was originally saddened by the effect it had on them, and originally regretted sending it. Now, he rejoices (vs 10), not that he made them sorry, but the real value, that they became repentant. They were sorry in a godly way (vs 10).
