2 Thessalonians 1:6 - Additional Comments

Interesting that God will repay those who persecute us for the cause of Christ. It is a righteous thing for God to do. Quite the opposite of when we do it, as that is unrighteous.
In fact, Paul earlier tells them, in 1 Thess 5:15, "never pay back evil for evil to anyone" and "Abstain from every form of evil" (1 Thess 5:22).
Hmmm, is it wrong to want God to repay someone for the trouble they have caused you? I expect, just like murder and adultery, the thought of it is just as evil as the deed itself.
This means we truly need to purify our minds against anyone who has ever or anyone who will cause us pain.
You know what a big part of the trouble is? Much of the pain we endure is because of our sin, not our righteousness. May any pain I suffer in this life be from what I have done for God, rather than against Him. The only way to do that is to focus on Him and not ourselves.
