Amos 2:13 - Additional Comments

The sins of Israel deeply grieved God, and weighed heavily on Him. This is how God views consistent sin without true repentance and drawing back unto Him. Do you have sin you keep falling back to without making an effort to draw near to God in true repentance? What is the result? See verses 14-16. You can't succeed. Your strength becomes weak, your knowledge becomes ignorance, your skill becomes as those without skill.
One of the biggest dangers in this area is things you do that displease God that you dismiss as inconsequential, or write it off as no big deal. If God is against it, that hinders your life. Is there something that God has been trying to get through to you for years? And maybe He has been trying to use your wife to get through to you?
