Amos 7:10 - Additional Comments

Bethel is where Amos was prophesying from, and it also was Israel's (the Northern Kingdom) center of religion (like Jerusalem in the Southern Kingdom).
Amos has reproved Israel, with the hope they would turn around. This is the same with any reproof that is given. Yet, we see the typical reaction -- shoot the messenger instead of listening to see if what he said is true and needs correction. Even if you don't agree with the reproof, you should look at why that person has the perception of something in your life that needs correction.
Verses on reproof - Matt 18:12-13, Gal 6:1, James 5:19-20, 1 John 5:16, Jude 1:22-23.
