Amos 7:8 - Additional Comments

The plumb line is the narrow path God requires Israel to travel -- God requires righteousness from them. He has been patience 2 times (verses 1-3, 4-6), and is no longer going to do so. This is the same as in chapters 1-2, where God is patient for up to 2 transgressions, then punishes for 3 even 4 transgressions.
Unplumbed walls are weak, untrustworthy, ugly, even useless. Has God been laying out His plumb line to you, trying to get you lined up to His righteousness? Or are you winding up like Israel, unplumbed? Do you let him straighten out your life? Do you listen and obey? Do you heed God's proddings?
