Ephesians 2:2 - Additional Comments

Sin is the course of this world. It is the direction each person is headed in without Christ. We should marvel when anyone does good, not when we see people doing evil, as that is the natural path.
Some of the names of Satan (NKJV) - Accuser, Adversary, Angel of light, Antichrist, Beast, Beelzebub, Deceiver, Devil, Dragon, Enemy, Evil one, Father of lies, God of this age, Lawless one, Liar, Lucifer, Man of sin, Murderer, Power of darkness, Prince of the power of the air, Roaring lion, Ruler of the darkness, Ruler of demons, Ruler of this world, Satan, Serpent of old, Son of perdition, Star, Tempter, Thief, Wicked one
Without Christ, we walk according to the ways of the world, but even worse, according to the ways of Satan, in particular following him as your prince, and not even realizing his existence. Satan's spirit worked in our lives - we were sons of disobedience.
So how did we conduct our lives? We fulfilled the desires of our flesh and our mind (vs 3). What was there to prevent us? We had no law, we were sons of disobedience, we had nothing to obey.
This was our nature, not goodness. Man is not inherently good, but inherintly evil. We are not kind by nature, but full of wrath (vs 3).
What do secular songs tell us about our position without Christ? "I'm on a highway to hell", "All we are is dust in the wind", and "I'm bad to the bone". And, from the 60's, "What's it all about, Alfie?
Is it just for the moment we live?", and "I can't get no satisfaction. 'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try.". And yes, this is the same path we all walked in.
