Exodus 32:6 - Additional Comments

They sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. The words denote the cultic feasts of the pagan systems. They were not worshipping God the way He wanted, they were worshipping a false god, and they were freely sinning (the eating and drinking and playing implied a disregard of God's laws). God viewed what they were doing as corrupted (vs 7).
