God did not come in anger. What would we have expected? More like the voice of booming and dread in the Wizard of Oz. Most times the world depicts God showing His power and frightfulness rather than His patience and love.
God certainly knew where they were, but begins the conversation this way to show fairness as He begins the trial against them.
Though God knows our sins, he still requires confession from us.
