Hosea 5:12

Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

The result of their disobedience - all they have will be destroyed within and will fade away. God will be like the moth who slowly destroys without your awareness, and also (vs 14) like a roaring lion who comes upon you suddenly, who is stronger than you and yo ucannot defend against, and who quickly consumes.
