So they won’t see a thing,

So they won’t have a clue about what’s going on
and, yes, so they won’t turn around and be made whole."

Isaiah 6:9 - Additional Comments

In verse 8, Isaiah has agreed to allow God to send Him. So, here we see him being sent. He is to go tell the people of Israel about their impending doom. God never said that the mission He sends us on would be pleasant, or well received by the recipients. Remember, we need to obey God because it is right, because we want to obey Him, because it is furthering His kingdom, not because of what we get out of it. Fix your eyes on Him. Do it truly for Him, and not the side benefits that you get out of it.
Suppose you are a pilot. If you are on a plane, and the stewardess says the pilot is ill and unless you take the controls, they will crash, how would you respond? Would you get angry for inconveniencing you? Would you be upset because the movie you are watching is being interrupted? No! What if you are flying the plane, and are told by the tower that you need to change direction because of a hurricane? Do, here Isaiah is telling the people of Israel that unless they repent and turn, they will crash! This verse says they didn't even consider what he had to say, but their hearts even became harder against his words. As their hearts hardened, God removed the opportunity, and shut them out of any more opportunities (vs 10). God was patient with them for a very long time, but His patience ran out - not because of emotion, but because it was time to deal with their sin.
