John 1:4 - Additional Comments

God is the author of our existence and Christ is the author of our faith (Heb 5:9, 12:2).
This further proves the deity of Christ, for He is the author of life. Life could not be without Him, for in Him was life. Not just a life, but all life.
What does light do? It enlightens the path, the way. Jesus showed us the way to God - He was our light, the light of men. Christ gave us life and light, away from the death and darkness that would be ours.
