Lamentations 3:15 - Additional Comments
Wormwood, aka Artemisia, is a European plant that has silvery silky-haired leaves and drooping yellow globular flower heads. It is known for its repulsive bitterness, yielding a bitter dark green oil used in absinthe (a green liqueur flavored with wormwood). It figuratively means something bitter or grievous, a curse or calamity (as in this verse), and also for injustice (Amos 5:7).
