Mark 10:24 - Additional Comments

Interesting that Jesus refers to His disciples as "children". I imagine that is how God sees us, in the same way we see our children.
Notice the transition between verse 23 and 24. Verse 23 refers to those who HAVE riches, and verse 24 further clarifies by referring to those who TRUST IN riches. It is not the riches, but the heart, the attachment to the riches. In reality, it doesn't matter how much money you have, people in any income level can the wrong attitude towards money (1 Tim 6:10).
Instead of trusting in God ("Thou art my hope" - Job 31:24), they trust in riches. But what are they trusting the riches to do? What are they leaning on the riches for?
Riches are deceptive, because they tend to convince a person his needs are met, and he doesn't need something else (God) to help with that.
