Mark 10:34 - Additional Comments
How specific this prophesy is. Jesus didn't just say they would have trouble. He described the spitting, in which fewer things are more humbling. He described the scourging, in which fewer things are more painful and destructive. And He says He will be killed after all that.
But wait. What is this Jesus finished with? He will rise again on the third day? I'm thinking they saw this as a speculation not a prophesy, and didn't pay much attention to this last one. At His death, they were in terrible fear and sadness. They were not thinking until AFTER they saw Him again about this prophesy.
We can take Jesus at His word with all things, for it is trustworthy.
