Mark 10:41 - The Message
When the other ten heard of this conversation, they lost their tempers with James and John. Jesus got them together to settle things down. "Youve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around," he said, "and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads. Its not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage."

Mark 10:41 - Additional Comments
It is clear here that the other disciples were annoyed and angry by the request of James and John (vs 37). They were "greatly displeased", i.e. to be "greatly afflicted with displeasure".
How hard it is to have the right attitude when someone has wronged you. What did Jesus teach on this? Read Matt 5:38-47 - Jesus says to turn the other cheek, to go the extra mile, to love your enemy, to bless those who curse you, to do good to those who hate you, to pray for those who persecute you.... "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."
Jesus asks us to forgive others, even when they continue to hurt you, even when they fully deserve it. There is nothing more difficult under the sun. Yes, what does Jesus say right after these statements in Matt 5:38-47? Matt 5:48 "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect."
