Mark 10:49

The interesting thing is that Jesus probably knew about Bartimaeus' need even before he called out, but what a great display of hope and faith in his cries.
The crowd was moving with Jesus towards Jerusalem. Jesus stopped when he heard Bartimaeus. The crowd also stopped. It must have been a very large crowd, for Jesus did not call for Bartimaeus Himself, but told others to call him.
