Matthew 26:21 - Additional Comments

They had already begun eating the Passover meal at this point.
The usual subject of conversation during that meal was the deliverance of Israel out of Egypt (Exo 12:26-27); but the great Passover is now ready to be offered, and the discourse of that swallows up any talk of the other (Jer 16:14-15).
How this shows Christ great love for us - He knew ahead of time all the calamity that would befall Him, yet He went ahead with it all for us.
Note that Jesus knew all along that Judas would betray Him, even when He called Judas to be His disciple (John 6:70-71).
