Matthew 26:24 - Additional Comments

I wonder who Judas thought that Jesus was. Did he accept that Jesus was God, was the Messiah, but just didn't follow Him? What about all the many miracles that Judas witnessed? What about the amazing character that Jesus had. What about His knowledge of things not present and things to come?
Even if Judas didn't agree with what Jesus was doing, didn't he realize that when Jesus said something was going to happen, it would?
Here Jesus gives Judas a warning. If you do what you are about to do, it will be so miserable for you that it would be better if you'd not been born. And yet, Judas still went ahead and did it anyway!
Did Judas have an extremely low self esteem, so much that he realized doom was to come if he continued, and yet he continued?
I suspect this same fate is true today to those who hurt the cause of Christ.
